Organic Commitment of Brazil Products Company
Below is a partial checklist of the items in Garden Pure's Level 1 Certification
Does Brazil Products Company do the following?:
1. Does the company, and its suppliers use organically grown seeds when commercially available? YES
2. Does the company use in the production of its agricultural products only those substances that are on the recognized USDA “allowed” list (generally all-natural, non-synthetic substances are allowed)? YES
3. Does the company refrain from using those substances on the recognized USDA “prohibited” list (generally, all synthetic substances are prohibited)? YES
4. Has the company applied, or does it plan to apply for within the next year, for organic certification with USDA and/or Japan’s Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries accredited organic certification programs, or with any other national or international organic certification program? YES
5. Does the handling of the company’s products meet the standards of any of the above organic certification organizations? YES
6. Do you prohibit the use of petroleum-based fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides that harm the ecosystem? YES
7. Does the company prohibit the use of genetically (GMO) engineered organisms? YES
8. Does the company prohibit the use of ionizing radiation? YES
9. Does the company prohibit the use of sewage sludge? YES
10. Do all the individuals, organizations and companies from which your company buys agricultural products, or ingredients that are included in your products, meet all the requirements of the items above? YES
11. Are preservatives added to your product after it is produced? NO
12. Are the containers your products shipped in certified for contact with food products? YES
13. Has the company’s operations complied with the above standards continuously for a minimum period of three years prior to this year? YES
14. Does the company keep accurate and complete records to verify the accuracy of the above information? YES
15. Is the Company committed to the principles of Organic Certification, and willing to pursue active policies to implement both the letter and spirit of this important global goal? YES
